Sound Transit officials will host an open house on April 3 to solicit public feedback on the current design of the South 200th Link Extension project.

The public will be invited to view the design, which currently is 50 percent completed, for the elevated guideway and future Angle Lake Station. The project will extend light-rail service form Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to South 200th Street.

Attendees also will be able to view a 3D animation of a Link light-rail train traveling on the 1.6-mile elevated guideway along 29th Avenue South, learn about construction schedules and phases, comment on proposed station plaza concepts and public art elements, and hear about plans for proposed parking, roadway and station access improvements for cyclists and pedestrians, Sound Transit officials said in a prepared statement.

Construction on the new station and guideway is slated to begin this spring, with service to start in September 2016.

Sound Transit will conduct separate procurements for design and construction of a garage, plaza and site improvements at Angle Lake Station, and construction of a nearby roadway and surface parking improvements.

The open house will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Madrona Elementary School in SeaTac.
