Federal Transit Deputy Administrator Therese McMillian joined Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and government officials at a ceremony last week to mark the completion of the $8.3 million Primos Station reconstruction project.Upgrades to the station, one of the busiest on SEPTA's rail lines, included a new station building, installation of a new drop-off area, improvements to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, construction of high-level platforms on the inbound and outbound sides, and increased parking areas. The Federal Transit Administration provided $5.2 million toward the project's costs, with remaining funds provided by state and local governments. The station hosts 700 transit-rail trips each weekday and is served by SEPTA's Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line.
