The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission is soliciting public comments on a proposed fare increase for the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE).Commission staff has proposed a 4.75 percent increase for all ticket types rounded up to the nearest 25 cents. The increase would be "consistent with the ACE Fare Program and passenger comments received during the last comment period," ACE officials said in a news release.The commission will accept comments until April 4. A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for May 2. If approved, the fare increase would take effect Oct. 1.ACE fares were last increased in January 2013.
