The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has selected a team led by Streetscape Partners L.L.C. as developer for a transit-oriented development at the Grosvenor Metrorail Station.

The development team is proposing to build 550 residential units and 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. As part of WMATA's sustainability program, the proposed development will be required to achieve a minimum "Silver" level certification under the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification program, WMATA officials said in a press release.

The developer selection is the third project to come out of WMATA's joint development solicitation issued in November 2013. The agreement with Streetscape is subject to the WMATA board's final approval. Construction is expected to begin in 2019.
