Sound Transit to host open house on Tacoma Link expansion plan

Sound Transit tomorrow will hold an open house on preliminary design plans for the Tacoma Link expansion.

Members of the public are invited to review and comment on 30 percent design plans for the 2.4-mile expansion, which includes one relocated station and six new ones, Sound Transit officials said in a press release.

The agency is also holding an "online open house" at tacomalink.org for those unable to attend the meeting.

The line will run from Tacoma's Theater District to the city's Stadium Way and Hilltop neighborhoods.

Assuming all funding is secured, construction is expected to begin in 2018.

Last month, Sound Transit's board selected the final route, stations and operation and maintenance facility for the expansion.
