The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) has begun hosting community meetings to share information and receive feedback regarding the proposed Green Line light-rail extension to Sacramento International Airport.

The first meeting was held yesterday, to be followed by two additional open houses today and Thursday.

The public is being asked to comment on issues that may be addressed in the draft environmental study, SacRT officials said in a press release.

The proposed project would extend light-rail service 13 miles from the 7th & Richards/Township 9 Station to the Sacramento International Airport. The extension also would be located close to several planned high-density, mixed-use neighborhoods, as well as regional employment and entertainment destinations in downtown Sacramento and the city's northwest area.
