The Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar logged 50,646 passenger trips during its opening weekend, which was Sept. 9-11. Rides were free on the 3.6-mile line for those days. Revenue service began Monday. Passes now cost $1 for two hours or $2 for an all-day pass. On Sept. 9, the system recorded 18,141 trips, which marked the greatest number of rides over the three days. The opening weekend was a "tremendous success," said Dwight Ferrell, chief executive officer and general manager of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, which manages the streetcar system. "The new streetcar service has made Cincinnati a true multimodal city and is living up to its promise of connecting people and places, improving quality of life and spurring economic development," Ferrell said. The city owns and funds the streetcar, but it is operated by Transdev.
