Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) staff has recommended studying three options for building the D2 Subway project in downtown Dallas.

Each alternative would run below a different street. One would go beneath Pacific Avenue, while another would run below Elm Street. The third option would run under Commerce Street.

DART staff recommended the options based on community input and a screening evaluation conducted this month, according to the agency's "DART Daily" blog.

The agency anticipates choosing a refined locally preferred alternative by June. The deadline for making the annual project submittal to the Federal Transit Administration is September.
