Brightline has partnered with ride-hailing company Lyft to provide first- and last-mile services at its stations.

As part of the agreement, Brightline's three stations will feature designated Lyft pickup and drop-off zones. Brightline passengers will be able to use the Brightline mobile app to see their Lyft driver's estimated time of arrival and check the approximate cost of a ride.

The "exclusive" rideshare partnership will launch May 19, coinciding with the start of Brightline's service between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Rail service currently is provided from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, Florida.

The partnership is the first of its kind for Lyft in Florida, company officials said in a press release.

"By partnering with Lyft, we're able to ensure that each of our guests will enjoy a seamless journey," said Brightline Chief Commercial Officer Ravneet Bhandari.
