The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is seeking input on the development of a new strategic plan to guide its programs and member services for fiscal years 2020-2022.

To gather feedback, the association has launched an online survey through July 31.

APTA's Strategic Plan Steering Committee is expected to complete a draft of the plan by early October and a final plan for approval by APTA's by Nov. 30.

The association's current strategic plan was approved in December 2014.

Meanwhile, the association has appointed Todd Williams head of its International Rail Rodeo (IRR) Committee. He serves as chief engineer and quality manager at Penn Machine Co.

He served on the IRR Committee for the past 15 years and vice chair of the maintenance competition for the past three years.

The IRR is an annual competition to test the skills of rail operators and maintenance teams. The Utah Transit Authority won the top honor at the most recent competition in June.
