Metra on Sept. 4 will host its On Track to Success vendor fair to offer workshops on upcoming engineering projects and networking opportunities for Chicago vendors.

Attendees will be able to meet and speak with prime contractors, subcontractors, community organizations and other transportation agencies, as well as register as a Metra vendor, Metra officials said in a press release.

A free workshop will be given on the CREATE P2 project, which will help eliminate freight and passenger train conflicts on Metra’s SouthWest Service Line by rerouting the line with a flyover bridge connection to Metra’s Rock Island Line.

An awards ceremony will be held at the VenueSix10 in Chicago to recognize businesses that have provided “exceptional service” to Metra and to showcase those that have become leaders in service and diversity.

“We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our contracting process, and this vendor fair is one of the main ways we further that goal and celebrate successes,” said Metra Chief Executive Officer Jim Derwinski. “We also plan to recognize the many community organizations that have promoted Metra’s business diversity and outreach initiatives.”
