TransLink this month is seeking public feedback on the elevated guideway placement and accessibility of the proposed 10-mile SkyTrain Expo Line extension from the King George Station to Langley, British Columbia.
TransLink officials are soliciting the public's input on three proposed SkyTrain guideway placements, which would run along Fraser Highway either on the north or south side of the roadway, or in the center of the median.
The placement will consider minimizing impact on the environment, property, costs, traffic and construction, as well as reduce the number of times the guideway will cross over the highway, TransLink officials said in a press release.
Officials also are seeking feedback on station locations, access to the SkyTrains and integration with other modes of transportation.
Current available funding for the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project would enable an extension only to 166 Street in Fleetwood, however TransLink has been tasked with planning for the full line.
In the first phase of public feedback, 85 percent of Surrey and Langley residents who were surveyed said they supported the proposed SkyTrain extension.
