The Kansas City Streetcar Authority recorded 2,228,942 riders in 2019, a 5.5 increase compared with 2018's ridership level.
In 2019, streetcar ridership was highest on the weekends, authority officials said in a press release.
The streetcar also received rider satisfaction ratings of over 90 percent on 11 of 13 service-related items on which the authority surveyed its riders in September 2019.
The highest rated service items were ease of use, reliability of service and station conditions, followed by safety and staff friendliness.
The lowest rated service items were transit center amenities, and service disruption and delay information.
Since opening in 2016, the streetcar has logged 7.8 million passenger trips, with an average daily ridership of 6,107 riders.
