New Jersey Transit yesterday unveiled a strategic plan to guide the agency's decisions over the next 10 years.

Dubbed NJT2030, the plan outlines more than 100 initiatives for the agency to achieve and implement by 2030.

The plan calls for the agency to improve on-time performance, replace trains, upgrade information technology systems, rehabilitate stations and improve system accessibility.

NJ Transit also addresses actions it's taking to help stop the spread of coronavirus, including enhanced cleaning and social distancing practices.

In addition to NJT2030, the agency issued a five-year capital plan that outlines what the agency can achieve with sustained and dependable funding over an extended period.

The capital plan establishes five performance indicators called “project values” that help translate NJT2030's goals into metrics applicable to capital projects. The five project values are state of good repair, customer experience, safety, resiliency and business performance.
