For the second consecutive year, New Jersey Transit has been named by Forbes as one of the state's "best employers."
The transit agency ranked first in the state in the transportation and logistics category and seventh overall among the 90 New Jersey-based organizations included in the annual rankings. That’s an improvement from 24th place last year, NJ Transit officials said in a press release. This year's ranking is the third time since 2018 that NJ Transit has made the list.
The list, "America’s Best-in-State Employers 2022," is an independent survey conducted by Statista, a consumer data analysis company, based on a sample of about 70,000 Americans working for organizations with more than 500 employees in the United States. About 1,380 employers were ranked across 25 industry sectors this year.
The evaluation is based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees, who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and evaluate other employers in their respective industry.
"Being independently named to this prestigious list for two consecutive years, in addition to being named to the 2018 Forbes America's Best Large Employers list, clearly positions NJ Transit as an employer of choice in our region," said NJ Transit President and CEO Kevin Corbett.
