The city of Calgary's Green Line Board in Canada has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the design, construction and financing of the first phase of the Green Line light-rail transit project.

The RFP was released to the two proponent teams: Bow Transit Connectors, which consists of Barnard Construction Co. Inc., Flatiron Construction Corp. and WSP Canada Inc.; and City Link Partners, which consists of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc., Dragados Canada Inc., Acciona Infrastructure Canada Inc., Parsons Inc. and AECOM Canada Ltd.

One team will be selected in early 2023 as the development partner, Calgary officials said in a press release. A 12-month development phase will begin once the final project agreement is drawn up.

At 11 miles, the Green Line project's first phase will include 13 stations, a light-rail tunnel and bridge, multiple park-and-ride sites and a rail-car maintenance storage facility. The full Green Line will stretch more than 28 miles, the longest and largest infrastructure investment in Calgary's history at CA$5.5 billion.
