Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) on Aug. 26 will begin construction of the 12th Street Station in Plano, Texas.

The station will serve DART Red Line light-rail service and provide transfer opportunities between the Red and Orange lines and the future DART Silver Line. The stations will include 313 parking places, five DART bus bays and access to the future Cotton Belt Regional Trail.

When completed, the 26-mile DART Silver Line regional-rail service will extend between Dallas-Fort Worth Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano, traversing seven cities between the airport, Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson and Plano. There will be 10 stations along the alignment.
