Beginning this weekend, regular weekend service will resume at the Port Authority Trans-Hudson's (PATH) Grove Street Station.

Since April, New York-bound trains have bypassed the station on weekends to accommodate extensive station rehabilitation work, according to a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) news release.

The project included replacing floor tiles, repainting, refinishing platform columns, and installing LED lighting and electrical wiring throughout the station. The rehabilitation work was performed in two phases, neither of which impacted weekday service.

The work is part of PANYNJ's $440 million, two-year program known as the PATH Forward Program, which calls for renewing and modernizing the 116-year-old PATH system.

With the resumption of regular service at the Grove Street Station, New York-bound PATH riders will be able to travel directly into the city on weekends.
