The Indiana Historical Society recently acquired a railroad collection that will be housed by the Midwest Railroad Research Center (MRRC).

North American passenger-train author Arthur Detmers Dubin spent more than 40 years collecting 3,000 items, including printed ephemera, photographs, original manuscripts, timetables, posters, menus and 19th century advertising pieces.

The society also acquired 31 volumes of The Official Guide and 14 volumes of Car Builders Encyclopedia.

The society is processing the collection and items are expected to be available for research in the William Henry Smith Memorial Library in mid-June.
