Los Angeles MTA goes Hollywood with new promotion

advertisement

When Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Nov. 9 opens its $615 million retail/entertainment Hollywood & Highland complex above the agency’s Hollywood/Highland Metro Red Line subway station, the agency plans to do it in celebrity fashion: by handing out "VIP Backstage Pass" booklets.

The booklets contain coupons good for special offers from more than 30 participating stores and restaurants, and can be obtained by bringing the coupon portion of "Next Stop Stardom" take-one cards (being handed out on MTA’s bus and rail system) to the Hollywood & Highland customer service desk.

The "Next Stop Stardom" cards also provide instructions on how to take Metro Rail to Hollywood and City Walk at Universal Studios.

Red Line trains stop at Hollywood & Highland about every five minutes during rush hour and every 10 minutes during non-rush periods.

MTA plans to post ambassadors in vests at the Hollywood/Highland station from Nov. 9 through Nov. 18 during peak period to assist first-time passengers.
