APTA becomes sole owner of Web-based TransportMAX tool

American Public Transportation Association (APTA) recently assumed sole ownership and control of TransportMAX from Booz Allen Hamilton Inc.
Available since April 2002, the Internet-based, integrated procurement tool enables public transportation agencies to reduce procurement processing time and costs while creating an audit trail for online transactions, according to a prepared statement. TransportMAX provides e-procurement services for request for quotes, catalog purchasing and reordering, vendor sourcing, auctioning and transaction listings for buyers and sellers.
Booz Allen developed the program’s technology, and provided management and financing services; APTA provided funding, marketing and industry knowledge.
"We can now offer our members an independent industry-owned marketplace upon which they can rely and trust to conduct important business activities," said APTA President William Millar in a prepared statement.
