Albuquerque lands federal grant for intermodal facility

Last week, the city of Albuquerque, N.M., announced it will receive $6.7 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation to build the Montaño Intermodal Center. The facility will provide a new connection between ABQ Ride buses and the New Mexico Rail Runner Express commuter train.

The four-acre center will include a bus island and priority bus drop-off area adjacent to a Rail Runner platform. The city will contribute $1.9 million in matching funds for the project.
