Alcatel completes Swiss installation

Alcatel Transport Automation Solutions’ Swiss division recently completed development, delivery and installation of the signaling system on 18.6-mile segment of Swiss Federal Railways’ (SBB) mainline between Marthalen, Rafz and Schaffhausen.
Work covered under the $2.4 million contract included 46 main signals, 78 axle counters and 22 point machines, as well as Alcatel 6131 LockTrac (also known as ELEKTRA 2) electronic interlocking system with a central unit in Neuhausen and a remote unit in Jestetten.
The project was completed in 19 months.
