advertisement
Alcatel Transport Automation Solutions recently was awarded a $39.5 million contract to install a European Train Control System (ETCS), Level 2 and interlocking outdoor equipment for a new line between Amsterdam’s and Belgium’s border.
ETCS is designed to transmit train movement rights and other specific information via GSM-R from a radio block center.
Scheduled to open in 2007, the High-Speed Line Zuid is part of a project to expand the line, and connect Amsterdam and Rotterdam with Antwerp, Brussels and Paris.
