Alexander to focus on development, growth for Connex

Connex North America Inc. recently named Richard Alexander vice president for business development.
Alexander will be responsible for expanding Connex business throughout New England, the mid-Atlantic and central sections of the United States, and light-rail nationwide. He also will work with Connex’s regional and national network of subsidiaries to develop the agency’s image.
Alexander has 25 years of transportation industry experience, including stints as a transit planner; director of operations and scheduling in Nashville and Indianapolis; and senior regional manager in private industry, helping provide transit service in various states. In 2000, he formed Alexander and Associates, a passenger transportation consulting firm.
Connex, Europe’s largest passenger-transportation company, began U.S. operations in 2001, and also has operations in Australia and the Middle East.
