Denver-based American Railway Explorer (ARE) recently announced plans to offer a luxury train service through much of the nation and several national parks.
The “rail cruise,” which is slated to be fully operational by summer 2011, would offer food, onboard accommodations, and on- and off-train excursions.
ARE plans to operate four-, eight- and 11-day tours. Packages will include the Southwest Explorer trip from Napa, Calif., to Santa Fe, N.M.; Northwest Explorer trip from Napa to Jackson, Wyo.; and Transcontinental Explorer trip from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C.
