Amtrak extends anniversary promotions
advertisement
When National Railroad Passenger Corp. (Amtrak) celebrated its 30th anniversary in May, officials decided to mark the event by offering 30 percent off travel between May 22 and August 31 — if tickets were purchased between May 15 and June 15.
Consumer response was so strong, Amtrak June 15 announced it would extend the offer for reservations made by August 24 for travel before August 31.
Through another promotion, children ages 2 to 15, traveling with an adult on the Auto Train, can receive a 75 percent discount. The Auto Train runs between Lorton, Va., near Washington, D.C., and Sanford, Fla., near Orlando.
Travel over the July 4th holiday is excluded from both promotions.
