Amtrak names Alves inspector general
advertisement
After a three-month search, Amtrak last week appointed Theodore Alves as inspector general. He will succeed Fred Weiderhold, who resigned last summer.
Alves recently retired from 35 years of federal service. He most recently was deputy inspector general for the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), where he was responsible for supervising audits and investigations of federal transportation agencies.
From 2001 to 2006, Alves was principal assistant inspector general for audits and evaluations at the USDOT. He previously held posts at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development and Government Accountability Office.
Alves’ start date still is being determined.
