Amtrak next month will increase service to accommodate riders traveling to President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.

From Jan. 20-23, Amtrak will add capacity to its Northeast Regional route. On Jan. 21, Amtrak will add round trips on the Acela Express and Northeast Regional routes.

Large crowds are expected in and around Washington, D.C., for Trump's inauguration. Amtrak is working with local, state and federal officials to ensure a safe weekend, according to an Amtrak press release.

Amtrak will post more information in the coming weeks on its inauguration page.
