advertisement
Despite a year-long delay in the advent of high-speed rail in the Northeast Corridor, Amtrak officials are stretching the anticipation one more day.
At 2 p.m. (EDT), Oct. 18, Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer George Warrington, board members, and Senators William Roth and Frank Lautenberg plan to gather at Washington Union Station to reveal the launch date for Acela Express high-speed rail service.
Gathered officials plan to present details regarding the 150-mph train’s ceremonial inaugural run date, as well as train schedules, fares and ticket sales.
