Austin's Capital Metro appoints Clark VP of rail operations

The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Austin, Texas, has named Melvin Clark vice president of rail operations, effective Jan. 31.
He will oversee management and safety of all passenger- and freight-rail operations, as well as maintenance of way, including track, bridges, signals and crossings, and compliance with all Federal Railroad Administration regulations.
Clark currently serves as district rail director for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. His prior experience also includes key railroad and signal management positions at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, Norfolk Southern Corp. and Chicago Transit Authority.
