advertisement
Australia’s Victorian State Government and V/Line recently awarded Bombardier Transportation a $69.5 million contract for nine two-car diesel multiple units (DMUs) to be used for regional service.
The contract, a follow-on agreement to a deal originally inked in November 2001, brings to 38 the total number of cars ordered from Bombardier for nearly $300 million. The agreement also includes a provision for 15 years’ maintenance for the trains.
Bombardier plans to begin delivering the 38 train sets in late 2004.
