BART approves Taser purchase for police department

Yesterday, the Bay Area Rapid Transit’s (BART) board approved the purchase of 130 Tasers for the BART Police Department.
The $140,755 purchase is necessary so that the department has enough of Tasers for the entire force, BART officials said in a prepared statement. Currently, the department owns 60 of the electric shock devices.
