BART begins to build Oakland Airport Connector
advertisement
Yesterday, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) broke ground on the $484 million Oakland Airport Connector project, which will provide a “train-to-plane” link between the Coliseum Station and Oakland International Airport, according to the agency.
The project is expected to take three-and-one-half years to complete. The connector then will replace AirBART buses that often get caught up in traffic congestion, according to BART.
Driverless, automated trains will arrive at the Coliseum Station every 4.5 minutes and transport travelers to the airport in about eight minutes.
