Bay Area Rapid Transit's (BART) website has been selected the "Best Government Site" in the 2014 Blue Drop Awards, an international competition recognizing projects that push the boundaries of open source Drupal, a web content management system used by numerous .gov sites.

BART rebuilt its website using open source Drupal in November 2013. The latest award adds to other bart.gov honors, including a Webby Award from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Science, a Grand Prize AdWheel Award from the American Public Transportation Association and a place in the "365: AIGA Year in Design" from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, according to a BART press release.

"We believe in using and contributing to open source software as a way of making it easier for agencies like ours to share solutions and improve services for the communities we serve," said BART Chief Information Officer Ravi Misra.
