Today, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will hold a public hearing on a proposed fare increase.
The agency has proposed raising base fares from $1.50 to $1.75, increasing other fares an average of 6.1 percent, implementing a 5-cent fare surcharge and hiking the San Francisco International Airport Station Premium Fare from $1.50 up to $3.50.
