BART signs second on-call service contract this month
advertisement
San Francisco’s Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) recently signed a five-year contract with a Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. subsidiary to provide on-call construction management services for BART projects.
Under the contract, terms of which weren’t disclosed, Jacobs will provide qualified resident engineers, inspectors and office engineers to augment BART’s staff, and help manage construction projects on and about BART’s system.
Jacobs has provided similar services to BART since 1998 and is familiar with BART’s projects that typically address parking, intermodal access for ADA compliance, mainline and yard infrastructure, facilities, train-control systems, transit power systems, controls and communications, and BART’s seismic retrofit program.
This is the second on-call contract renewal BART has signed this month. BART April 2 awarded Earth Tech, a business unit of Tyco International Inc., a five-year, $15 million contract to provide ongoing engineering support services. Earth Tech has been working with BART since 1992.
