BART slams previous ridership record during World Series parade
advertisement
This week, the San Francisco Giants clinched the World Series and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) scored its highest-ever daily ridership.
On Wednesday, the agency carried 522,200 riders, due in large part to hundreds of thousands of people who rode the train into San Francisco for the Giant’s World Series victory parade.
BART’s previous single-day ridership record of 442,100 was set on Oct. 29, 2009, during an emergency closure of the Bay Bridge.
