BART to consider new advertising opportunities

Today, Bay Area Rapid Transit’s (BART) board plans to consider revenue-generating proposals that would use space in and around trains for advertising.
The additional revenue would be used to help maintain and improve service and provide additional amenities for riders, BART officials said in a prepared statement. The agency is facing a projected $7.5 billion capital funding deficit over the next 30 years, officials said.
New advertising opportunities being considered include station information monitors, train information monitors, station co-naming rights, and right-of-way and train exterior ads.
