Barrerio, Eggelletion win re-election as South Florida RTA board leaders

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) board recently re-elected Bruno Barreiro as chairman and Josephus Eggelletion Jr., as vice chairman.

Elected chairman in December 2006, Barreiro is president of BABJ Investment Corp., and also chairs the Miami-Dade County Commission, Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization and Miami River Commission. He previously served on the Tri-County Commuter Rail Authority board from November 2000 to July 2003, and held stints as vice chairman from July 2001 to July 2002, and chairman from July 2002 to July 2003.

Eggelletion was elected SFRTA’s vice chairman in December 2006. He currently serves as Broward County mayor and holds a post on the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization board.
