Bombardier Transportation recently received orders from Italy, France and Venezuela totaling $34 million.

Italferr, the Italian State Railways’ engineering subsidiary, awarded a $46 million contract for a new rail control and telecommunication system to a consortium comprising Bombardier and Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario Spa. Bombardier’s portion is $16.5 million. Delivery is scheduled to be complete by year-end 2005.

Alstom Transportation awarded Bombardier a $5.7 million contract to supply six trailer cars and 12 carrying bogies for ZTER electrical multiple units to be used by SNCF, the French National Railways, in its Aquitaine, Bretagne, Centre, Pays-de-Loire and Poitou-Charente regions.

And in Venezuela, the Caracas metro awarded the Frameca consortium, of which Bombardier is a part, a $12 million contract to manufacture 56 motor bogies and 28 carrying bogies. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in June.
