Bombardier receives order, charters propulsion-system joint venture

Bombardier Transportation recently received a $130 million order from Luxembourg Railways for 85 double-deck passenger coaches, including 67 trailer cars and 18 driving cars.
Scheduled for delivery between November 2004 and September 2005, the cars will be manufactured at Bombardier’s Gorlitz, Germany, plant.
Meanwhile, Bombardier recently established a joint venture company with China’s Changzhou Railcar Propulsion Engineering R&D Center to produce, market and maintain propulsion equipment for rail vehicles.
Bombardier-CPC Propulsion Systems Co. Ltd. expects to start manufacturing the equipment later this year.
