advertisement
Switzerland’s BLS Lotschbergbahn AG Dec. 12 awarded a Bombardier Transportation/Alstom Transport consortium a $57 million contract for 18 three-car electric multiple units (EMUs).
For its $40 million share, Bombardier will manufacture carbodies and bogies, and be responsible for interior fitting, final assembly, testing and commissioning. Alstom will supply the propulsion equipment.
The consortium plans to deliver the EMUs between June 2003 and December 2004.
