Buehlhorn appointed to St. Louis Metro board

St. Clair County, Mo., Board Chairman Mark Kern recently appointed Michael Buehlhorn to the St. Louis Metro Transit board.

Buehlhorn is executive director of the Metro Park East and Recreation District. He previously served as mayor of Swansea, Ill., from 1985 to 2003.

He has been involved in transit decisions over the years in several capacities, including while serving on the St. Clair County Transit District’s board, the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council and the site election committee for the St. Clair County MetroLink, according to Metro Transit.
