The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority recently announced it will implement Fannie Mae’s Smart Commute® initiative to attract home buyers near rail stations and bus stops in the Buffalo/Niagara area.

Under the Buffalo Niagara Smart Commute Initiative, Summit Federal Credit Union will add a portion of potential transportation savings to the qualifying income of home buyers who purchase a home within a half-mile of a Metro rail station or bus stop. Summit will add $200 per month for households with one wager earner and $250 per month for households with two bread winners.
