CATS to hold hearing on proposed fare increase
advertisement
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will hold a public hearing March 28 to solicit comments on proposed fare increases, which would take effect July 1.
The agency’s current fare policy recommends a fare increase every two years, CATS officials said in a prepared statement.
The agency previously hiked fares in July 2010. The new price increases will vary depending on the service. The proposal calls for a 25-cent increase for LYNX light-rail service, which currently charges a fare of $1.75.
