Chicago Transit Authority Sept. 20 named Sylvia Bateman chief attorney to the transactions group and added David Buetow, Eric Mennel and Justin Doane to its law department.



Bateman will handle negotiations and advise CTA on significant transactions, such as fiber optics technology, funding and procurement issues, and regulatory initiatives. Her prior experiences include negotiating and drafting marketing, facilities and information technology contracts for United Airlines; managing all corporate and legal services, and handling transactional work at Heller Financial; and practicing real estate law.



Buetow and Mennel join CTA as senior attorneys in the corporate group; Doane, as associate attorney in the torts group.
