CTA to test passes for convention visitors
advertisement
Yesterday, the Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) board approved an experimental pass designed to promote ridership to attendees of conferences and trade shows at McCormick Place.
Under the plan, CTA will partner with individual convention and event organizers to distribute a “C-Pass,” which will provide unlimited rides throughout an event for all attendees.
CTA will sell the passes to the convention and event organizers prior to their arrival in Chicago. The price of pass, which would be valid one day prior to and one day after the event, will vary depending on the duration of the event, but will begin at $3 per person per day, CTA officials said in a prepared statement.
