Caltrain adds message boards to 10 stations

Caltrain plans soon to expand its visual messaging system to 10 more stations, equipping the facilities with scrolling test messages to announce service-related changes or disruptions, as well as providing safety and customer-service information.

Once the project is completed in October, the signs will be installed at 17 of Caltrain’s 34 stations. A $3.4 million contract was awarded to Royal Electric Co. to install the systems. Caltrain plans to equip additional stations as funds become available.
