Caltrain increases service with new schedule

After five months of public hearings, Caltrain has set a new service schedule that incorporates its new Baby Bullet express service.

To take effect June 7, the new schedule also offers streamlined limited-stop and local service. Caltrain will operate 86 daily trains, 10 of which will be Baby Bullet express trains, enabling passengers to travel between San Francisco and San Jose, Calif., in less than an hour.

The agency made several changes to its original proposed schedule based on passenger comments, such as adding a southbound Baby Bullet stop at the 22nd Street Station, offering increased consistency in weekend service schedule and increasing the level of service at some non-Baby Bullet stops. Caltrain officials will evaluate the schedule after six months to ensure it’s meeting passenger expectations.
